Refund Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase of Brightness. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which you may request a refund.

1. Our Commitment

We stand behind the quality of our software. Customers have the right to cancel their order and request a full refund within 14 days of purchase without providing any reason.

2. Refund Eligibility

2.1 Eligible Refund Requests

You are eligible for a full refund if you request it within 14 days of purchase for any reason, including:

  • You simply changed your mind
  • Technical Issues: The App fails to function on your supported Mac system
  • Feature Discrepancy: The App does not perform core features as described
  • DDC Incompatibility: Your external display does not support DDC

2.2 Refund Period

Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the original purchase date. Customers have the right to cancel their order and request a full refund within 14 days of purchase without providing any reason. We cannot process refund requests after this period.

3. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  1. Email us at baizhanhui@outlook.com with the subject line "Refund Request"
  2. Include your order number or the email address used for purchase
  3. Describe the reason for your refund request
  4. If applicable, include any relevant screenshots or error messages

We will respond to your refund request within 3 business days.

4. Refund Process

Once your refund request is approved:

  • Refunds are processed through Paddle, our payment processor
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method
  • Processing time is typically 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer
  • Upon refund, your license will be deactivated

5. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will not be issued in the following situations:

  • Requests made after the 14-day refund period
  • Evidence of abuse, fraud, or violation of our Terms of Service

6. Technical Support Before Refund

Before requesting a refund due to technical issues, we encourage you to:

  • Check our documentation and FAQ for solutions
  • Contact our support team to troubleshoot the issue
  • Ensure your system meets the minimum requirements
  • Verify that your external display supports DDC control

We are committed to helping you get the most out of Brightness and will work to resolve any issues you may encounter.

7. Chargebacks

Please contact us for a refund before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card company. Chargebacks incur fees and complications that can often be avoided through direct communication. We are always willing to work with you to find a resolution.

8. Paddle's Role

Paddle is our Merchant of Record and handles all payment processing and refunds. By making a purchase, you also agree to Paddle's Terms of Service and refund procedures.

9. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
